[00:00:00] Speaker A: So I cannot stress enough how important it is our words carry power or no power.
And the only way that they can carry power is if the spirit behind it is correct.
[00:00:20] Speaker B: Welcome to the wealth, an Elam Fellowship Leadership podcast. My name is Leah and I'm the social media and marketing coordinator here at Elam Fellowship. Each episode will draw from the heart of our leadership community and dive into messages that refresh, challenge and equip you in your walk with Christ.
In this special series, we're bringing you teachings from our prophetic ministry conference held this past August. These sessions are full of wisdom, encouragement and practical insight to help strengthen you as a leader and as a prophetic voice in your environment.
Today's message is part one of a two part session featuring our speaker, Jessica Wicked. So let's jump in together and hear what God is speaking to us.
[00:01:00] Speaker C: I want to introduce our next speaker and about two or three years ago, my wife had a women's gathering and she invited Jessica Wicks to come and share at that gathering.
And I wasn't there for some reason, you know, they wanted real anointing so only the women were in the house. Can we say amen? Hallelujah. My house. They call me the Dean of Women because I have four daughters, if you don't know that and all anointing dwells in that species. Anyhow, moving along because I'm gonna have to get out here alive. I'm not getting smiles from my daughters right now. So anyhow, my name is not Phil McNeil. It'll be something else just so I can go home.
Anyhow, she came and ministered and at the end she literally prophesied over the church the very words I had spoken in my elders meeting that week.
I mean the very words about a ship about sails being drawn in. But it's time to open up the sails again and believe the Lord and just began to speak everything so. Jessica is a graduate of Elam Bible College and majoring in pastoral ministry. A passionate servant leader, Jessica has devoted her life to to equipping and empowering others to walk in their God given identity and calling. She currently serves as the at the as the executive administrator of Resurrection Life Fellowship in Madison, New York. And of course she's the daughter of the speaker who just went before. Can we say amen? Can you give her a warm welcome this morning? This afternoon? Just give her a warm welcome. Jessica, come and share what's on your heart. Amen. Welcome. And your husband is a great man.
You are blessed.
That's right.
Bless you.
[00:02:51] Speaker A: All Right. What am I doing up here?
What am I doing up here?
Serving the Lord.
So when Phil asked me to come to his church here for Elam and serve at the prophetic conference, I'm thinking, yeah, I'll do prophetic ministry. Yeah. Yeah. So then when I found out I was speaking, I was like, oh, girl, what did you do? What did you do?
Anyways, I am just so grateful to be here.
I was here before, I think before this was built or when this was just a gym.
2005, 2006, this was my home church. And I took all three years at. I should say two. My third year, I found it to find a church that felt like home.
And it's because Phil loves to move in the spirit, and so does my mom. And so it was a very comfortable place for me. And me and my then boyfriend, now husband, we loved it. Alex side. All of us came together.
It was a good time.
This place was a place where we could feel at home and grow in our giftings, and we just so appreciate that.
I love looking out in this crowd and seeing Marc Scorzone, who was my Camp Shiloh director when I was a teen. I mean, I could go on and on and on. It's just incredible to be invited here. It's an honor. And also it's intimidating. So there's that.
But here's the thing.
We all love to hear from the Lord, and so I'm just here to do that for you.
You know, just me. I'm a mom of four. I homeschool.
I. My oldest is turning 16 in the fall.
Tirza Talia is 12. Gideon is turning eight next month, the same month I'm turning 40.
Lord Jesus, help me.
And then Ezra, who's six. He's a wild man, and he fishes every day. We live on a lake, and we just love it. I started a homeschool co op at my church that this fall we have a hundred students.
It's very, very busy. I'm very busy. But I am blessed. And I just recently started something else with a friend. She's here. Katrina, where you at, girl?
The Lord has been speaking something to me and to her, and I think really the body of Christ. I'm going to share it with you guys right now.
I really feel like this next season that the Lord is bringing in a revival of being known and a revival of relationships.
We have gone through about two decades of not knowing each other thanks to social media.
No one knows how to communicate. No one knows how to be in healthy relationships with Themselves, with the Lord, with friends, with leadership.
And we've come to this place where we're, like, getting offended at the drop of a hat and holding against each other.
And I think that the next wave, that the Lord is actually. I know. Let's just say I know, because it would be pretty stinking cool.
Is the revival of relationships, of being able to communicate with each other, of having healthy conversations, of building one another up, of having tables where everybody is welcome and offense doesn't build.
This is the body of Christ, and I think the Lord is moving us back into that. So me and my friend Katrina really felt impressed to. She's a life coach and has been doing it for seven years. I'm currently getting my certification to do this for women, because we love women. And it's called the For Me movement. And it's not because we're all about ourselves. But here's the quote.
God has life happen for you, not to you.
And it's such a simple statement, but the moment that. That clicks over in your brain and you realize, oh, this season of brokenness I went through, did he cause it? Probably not. Did he allow it?
And why? It was for me, for my development. And, you know, I dare I say, like, 99% of our breakthrough moments were based off of relationship issues.
Right?
So the Father works in relationships, and that is what he's doing. That is where we are going. I can fully say this from the depths of my heart because it's biblical, but that is where the Lord is leading us back into the Father's heart is to see the body of Christ united.
Right?
Right. That dew that runs down the beard of Aaron, that golden oil.
Oh, so good. So good.
Feel. I got a word for you.
I wrote notes because I did it earlier today, and I. And I couldn't. I couldn't release it. So here we are again. Got another one for you.
I couldn't help it.
During worship, I saw. I saw brick walls.
And you were standing there, and you could see the termite damage, and they were crumbling.
And the Lord said, take them down. And you did. And he said, okay, Lord, I'm gonna build these back up.
And you had the cement blocks, and so you're like, these are sturdy. I'm gonna put these right in the same spot that that brick wall was.
And you laid. You know that. Is it mortar? Am I getting it right? I don't even know. And you put the bigger, more sturdy cement blocks.
And the Lord said, have a seat, Phil. I want to show you something.
And when you sat down, you could see the cracks in the mortar, and you could see the termites again.
And the Lord said, knock it down again.
Knock it down again. You had just gotten started. The Lord said, knock it down again.
And then I saw a hand with a blueprint just whip the blueprint across this huge table and it was a whole new blueprint.
And it was like almost 3D. I could see it.
And the Lord said, you're gonna have these foam walls. Now, my whole family is construction, so I know these things, but it's this new, probably in the last decade, technique where they have the foam walls come in the forms and they set them and they pour the cement in them.
Yeah, yeah.
And the Lord said, this is what I want you to do.
You're going to build the walls up so strong that no termite, no air, no cracks can get into it.
And what was once just walls, you're going to put a building on.
You see the rooms, you think creatively. The Lord made you to think creatively. He made you to have creative ideas. You already see the rooms, and the Lord is teaching you right now how to create the walls without cracks and termites and air that gets into it. And it's these poured foam things.
I don't know what that even means, but it's these forms and there's no room for error.
And when these are forming, like with any cement, but when these are forming, you get that machine that jiggles it and gets all the air out, and it's just shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake.
And I heard the Lord say, I have given you the gift to think creatively because you live in the spiritual realm more than you live here.
I have given you the gift to see the blueprint, and I am downloading them right now.
You are co creating with me, and I'm going to honor that. And not only are you going to rebuild the walls, but you're going to build the rooms, says the Lord. Rooms and a house. And the family is going to be brought back together.
Where there was once no rooms, no living room, no kitchen, no bedrooms, you are going to be building them.
I almost hear it like a, like a, like a Noah situation where, where there's some naysayers that said, oh, the way you do it, the way you do it.
What are you doing?
And the Lord said, ignore them, ignore them, ignore them, ignore them. Your ways are my ways.
Look to me, look to me, look to me.
I will do the rest, says the Lord. Okay, isn't that fun?
That we get to. To be a part of the word of the Lord. Okay, I have a word. Let's hope. Let's hope I can do it. What. What's my time here? I got till 2:30.
Okay. All right.
So, you know, when you say yes to any type of ministry, you know the Lord's gonna take you through something to teach you.
Huh? I was like, okay, Lord, what are you gonna do? What are you gonna do to make this word very alive in me? So.
And so the word he gave me when I finally went through all the last stuff I went through for the whole last month, because I went through stuff, was obedience.
Yeah. So I'm gonna talk about what it looks like to be an obedient prophet. I first wanna talk really quick and honor these people. Cause I think they. Well, there's a lot of people need to be honored. But I wanna talk about. For me, one of the most impactful words happened when I was 12. And then later, it was faith dodge. Anybody know Faith Dodge? Yes.
And she told me that I would see things like a TV in front of me. And that prophetic word activated this incred, incredible new season of my life.
And then Nancy Clark, a couple years later, I also wanted to honor Sister Sylvia Evans, my husband.
My husband, Joe Wicks. When he was 16, you went to Faith Chapel. And it was a word that rocked his life and it directed his life. And I wanted to say this because I think you all know this, but it's so important that we listen to the spirit of God and that we release the words that he gives us, because you don't know the impact you're making.
And there's people in this room who made such an impact on me and what I'm doing and standing here today.
And my husband, like, he would not be on the path he's on if it wasn't for Sylvia releasing a word when he was 16 years old.
And the last thing I'm going to say before I get into this is my husband's dad, Joe Wicks. His dad is John Wicks.
He just loves soaking in the spirit, if you know him, loves it. And he told Joe every opportunity to go get prayer or run to the altar, do it. Doesn't matter how many times you do it, go do it. And I want to give you guys that piece of advice. I think. I think like, a little ego, a little pride, you know, whatever. Like, oh, I just got prayer. I don't need it. Who cares if you don't need it? Get up there. How can we ever get enough of. Of the presence of God, he can't. Right?
So I just want to invite you guys. Be greedy. Be greedy.
Be greedy. All right, number one.
An obedient prophet speaks only what God says. Listen, my. My sermon was halfway preached by. By. By Peter and Phil, all right? So I'm just confirming. An obedient prophet speaks only what God says.
And a prophet who is not walking in obedience adds or subtract.
When God entrusts the prophet with his word, accuracy and purity are everything.
We are not meant to be the editor of God's word, right?
Just the Messenger.
Ooh.
Jeremiah 23:28 says, Let the prophet who has a dream recount the dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. And that is it.
That's it.
An obedient prophet delivers the message exactly as God gave it. No embellishment, no softening, no twisting the moment for the hearer's preferences or for your own ego.
A disobedient prophet spins it.
Gotta impress the crowd. Oh, I feel dumb, Lord. So I'm not gonna say it.
You know, we have a thriving basic ministry that runs through our church. Basic awesome impacts a lot of people. And I've been invited year after year to come and do they do a dinner and a prophetic ministry night. And it's just an honor anytime that when I get to, you know, do prophetic ministry, I'm just so honored by it. And this year, it was me and one of the elders, Tom, that was praying together. And then on the other side, because my mom was sick and a bunch of other people sick was two other prayers. And they aren't typically people that pray prophetically, but so sweet, such a good heart.
So they were praying on the other side. And so I was praying for a man with. With the elder, a young man. And the Lord clearly gave me word. And I knew what it was, but I wasn't released to share that. I could only share a Bible story, and that the Lord was answering his question. But I knew that the Lord was answering his question of whether or not he needed to break up with his girlfriend. I didn't say it, but I knew it. All right.
And on the other side, two lovely women were praying for his girlfriend at the same exact time. I didn't know.
And they, you know, she said, I just need to know if I'm supposed to be with him. We're both Christians. He's helped me grow my faith, you know? And so these lovely ladies, kindest hearts, prayed what she wanted to hear.
And so I didn't know any of this was happening, by the way, I found out later, a week later. Thank you, Jesus. He saved me, I guess. It was a mess.
It was a mess because this kid went and broke up with her because that was the question he had been asking the Lord.
But this girl fought it because she had a prophetic word that they were supposed to be together, and the Lord made it. Now, was the intention of these ladies wrong? No, no. They were blessing and honoring. But I cannot explain to you how important it is to only say, especially when you're saying you're giving a prophetic word, what the Lord has given you. Are we human? Do we make mistakes? Absolutely. Thankfully, it wasn't me, but it was actually, my sister was able to talk to this girl, but she started to doubt prophetic words. Hearing from the Lord, you know, it was just this whole thing. So I cannot stress enough how important it is. Our words carry power or no power.
And the only way that they can carry power is if the spirit behind it is correct.
Don't edit God, just deliver the word. Number two. An obedient prophet delivers with love, courage and encouragement.
If you're not walking in this, we deliver with fear, seeking approval, discouragement.
The heart behind the message matters more than the message.
Like my mom today asking somebody about their car.
I mean, we could go into that.
The heart behind that is the Father's heart to honor.
But if I went to somebody, I said, you got to sell your car, could you imagine?
Thanks, mom, for the example. That was awesome.
Loved it.
We are marked by the love of the Father. And if we cannot mark our words that we share with the Father's love, then we gotta go like this.
Thanks, Peter, for the wonderful complete message on that.
If we have a corrective word to speak, it needs to only be brought in hope, love and alignment.
No shame, no blame. You know, the first emotion that was talked about in the Bible in the Garden of Eden was what?
Shame.
If you do life coaching and you start getting training on emotions, shame is the lowest energetic emotion that the human being can feel. They've actually tested it.
Isn't that interesting that the enemy would use shame as his first negative emotion to trip up humankind.
So if we are the body of Christ and we are the messengers of the most High God, shame. Shame is the not, not thing that we want to give. It is the last thing we want to do.
We cannot be driven by rejection, pride of being right, manipulative words or discouragement. We are meant to Build up and bless and see. The thing is, our gifts are simply just that, a gift.
They only have power.
They only have the ability to break chains and comfort because of the spirit behind it.
And that is what we must operate in. Do not shrink back.
All right, here we go.
Number three. An obedient prophet keeps their life aligned with God.
Somebody who's walking in disobedience lives in compromise.
Am I delivering a heavy word? I don't know. I don't know if I like it, you know. Have you ever had a mouse in your house?
I've had a rat.
I live on a lake. And some of the negatives are. We get all sorts of creatures. Spiders, like this big.
Well, we had a rat in our house. We didn't know it was a rat. We kept seeing like poop, you know, little bits of poop. We're like, oh, it's a mouse. We said the mousetrap and we're like, boy, that mouse is so smart. Kept stealing the peanut butter, the cheese, everything, and he didn't get snapped. Then our washer breaks our washer, we rip it apart. And inside of this washer is mini bags of chips, sandwich bags, crackers, crumbs, and this stinking. Well, we thought it was a mouse at the time.
A rat had eaten away at the lines and we had to replace them. And so then we started looking at the poop, right? It's a little bit bigger than a mouse poop. So my husband goes on a rat hunt, right? The rat hunt. And he looks this thing up and he's set in the rat traps, you know, because he doesn't want to do poison because we don't want the stench, right?
So he's looking, he's got like the bucket with like the thing that tips it in and then they drown in the water. He's got, you know, you knit the bigger traps. This stinking thing was so smart, he got every stinking snack and never died.
So finally Joe gave in and he did the poison. And that thing stunk. Joe calls it the smell of victory.
Uh huh. And see, the. The thing crawled somewhere. Could we find it forever? No.
It stunk up the entire house. Oh my gosh. It was rotten. Absolutely rotten.
And we finally found it. It was disgusting. You know, the tails and rats are probably the most disgusting part. Gag. All right, right, I know. It's absolutely disgusting.
That's what compromise does, you know, Stinks, stinks. And it's just this little thing in comparison to the house.
But if you let it rot, stinks.
God gives the gift, but it's our responsibility to stay aligned with His Word and the Spirit of God. Are we perfect? No. No gifts can impress, but only the anointing breaks the chains, brings the healings, and releases the Holy Spirit's power.
God will not take back your gift. Romans 11:29 but we must. It is our responsibility to pursue his presence and his anointing. And it has to be new every morning.
New every morning.
Great is Thy faithfulness, O Lord.
Great is thy faithfulness.
