[00:00:00] Speaker A: I was sitting there on my porch doing my Bible studies, stewing in my. [00:00:04] Speaker B: Anger, really feeling justified. And I read that scripture and I go, oh no, oh no, the Lord's. [00:00:12] Speaker A: About ready to slap me. [00:00:14] Speaker C: I could just feel it. [00:00:15] Speaker B: I could just feel it. [00:00:16] Speaker A: And I heard the Father in all this kindness say to me, jesse, would you humble yourself for me? [00:00:33] Speaker D: Welcome back to the well, an Elam Fellowship leadership podcast. I'm your host, Leah, social media and marketing coordinator here at Elam Fellowship. Each episode we draw from the heart of our leadership community and share messages that refresh, challenge and equip you in your walk with Christ. Today we're continuing with the conclusion of a powerful two part teaching from Jessica Wick at our prophetic ministry conference held this past August. If you missed part one, be sure to go back and listen. But for now, let's dive into the conclusion of this timely message. [00:01:02] Speaker B: It is our job. This is something that we have in the. For me. We just wrote a book, by the way. I brought the, the edited copy here for my partner to see for the 4me movement. And in it we have the core. [00:01:16] Speaker A: Alignment, which is, we all know this, the spirit, the soul and the body. [00:01:23] Speaker B: If we are not checking these in daily with the Holy Spirit, with the word of God, with our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done. If we are not checking our physical body, our soul, our mind. Right, right. And our spirit, man, with the Lord, we can and will walk in compromise. [00:01:48] Speaker A: Now, we're not perfect. We wouldn't need Jesus if we were. So you're gonna find compromise. You are. But what is our responsibility? Make it right. Make it right. Align yourself. [00:02:03] Speaker B: There's a story in numbers. I'm not gonna read it, cause it's too long. 22 through 24. Is it Balaam? [00:02:10] Speaker A: Did I say that right? Yeah, and he was a prophet, you know. [00:02:15] Speaker B: But come to find out, we could also curse because King Balak from Moab wanted to buy a curse off of him, basically. So King, King Balak sent all of his men and he offered, you know. [00:02:28] Speaker A: Here'S this money, will you come curse the Israelites? [00:02:31] Speaker B: And, and God told Balaam, no, no. [00:02:34] Speaker A: I love those people. So he left. [00:02:37] Speaker B: And then of course, the king comes. [00:02:38] Speaker A: Back again with more people. And Balaam says, the Lord, can I curse him? And the Lord says, no, but you can go, but you must listen to me. [00:02:47] Speaker B: So this is what I love about the Lord. He's crazy in the best way possible. He's out of his mind. [00:02:52] Speaker A: I love It. [00:02:55] Speaker B: Balaam's riding a donkey and the donkey sees this angel or whatever it was that scared the crap out of him. And so he runs off into the field and Balaam beats it and he gets back on. And I think it happened like two more times. And finally the Lord touches the donkey and makes him speak. [00:03:16] Speaker A: See, this is what happens when we. [00:03:17] Speaker B: Work with the Lord. [00:03:18] Speaker A: He makes animals talk. [00:03:20] Speaker B: It's just awesome. It's just awesome. And the donkey looks at his master and he's like, hey, have you ever seen me, like, do something bad? There's a reason why I'm doing it. Look and see. So anyways, I just like that part of the story. But anyways, Balaam got there and. Yeah, right, had nothing to do with the sermon, but I had to tell it. And King Balak was like, okay, can you curse him? And he's like, no. Come from this angle. Can you curse him? And he's like, no. [00:03:43] Speaker A: God said no. [00:03:44] Speaker B: And I think it was one more time. And he's like, can you curse him? And Balaam's like, no. [00:03:47] Speaker A: God said no. But there was an unsubmitted part of Balaam who was greedy. [00:03:56] Speaker B: Who wanted to. [00:03:59] Speaker A: Serve people and not the God of all the universe. And so he didn't curse Israel, but he gave King Balak an inside scoop for the Israelites. [00:04:18] Speaker B: This inner compromise revealed that while Balaam's. [00:04:21] Speaker A: Gift was real, his characters and motives were flawed. [00:04:27] Speaker B: He later taught Balak unfortunately, how to seduce Israel into idolatry and sexual sin, which unfortunately brought judgment on God's people. His story became a biblical warning against loving, money, position and favor. That compromise, Balaam's prophetic reputation was ruined and ultimately destroyed. How many times in the last decade, especially but two decades, have you seen. [00:04:51] Speaker A: These major ministry leaders and prophets? [00:04:54] Speaker B: And their compromise is written all over the news. [00:04:59] Speaker A: One compromise ruined their testimony. We are not perfect, but the Lord. [00:05:08] Speaker B: Is asking you to align yourself daily, body, mind, spirit with him so that we can walk not in compromise. John 14:15 says, if you love me, keep my commandments. True obedience isn't just about rules. It's about honoring the one we love and letting our life reflect a relationship with him, so that we can be the messengers of Jesus Christ to others. When we choose to align our core spirit, body, mind. [00:05:45] Speaker A: This is where we can move with the spirit of God. [00:05:51] Speaker B: Number three. An obedient prophet keeps their life. Nope, go on, on the next page. Next one. Number four. An obedient prophet co creates with God somebody who is not obedient is Self creating. So this is the joy of working with the Lord is we get to co create in the most creative and wonderful ways. [00:06:11] Speaker A: Because guess what, it doesn't have to be our idea. We can blame it all on him. [00:06:16] Speaker B: And, you know, he. [00:06:17] Speaker A: He strengthens us. [00:06:19] Speaker B: We're. We're weak. I have a terrible memory. My gosh. Oh. But when I get up, or you. [00:06:24] Speaker A: Know what, when I sing worship, the practice is usually absolutely terrible. [00:06:28] Speaker B: And I, before I get up, I. [00:06:29] Speaker A: Say holy Spirit, you know, you know. [00:06:33] Speaker B: And it's so good, but it's not me. It's always the Holy Spirit. When we co create with the Lord, that is the joy and, and the benefit and the pleasure and the honor that we get. He doesn't need us, by the way. God can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, but he gives us the honor, the joy to co create with him today. This is my honor to be here. Not because I'm special. [00:06:58] Speaker A: I'm a mom of four kids. I hang out on my lake all summer. I don't speak. [00:07:04] Speaker B: But it is my joy and honor to co create with the Lord in this space. And it's the same for every single one of you. We get to partner with God to. [00:07:13] Speaker A: Unlock destinies, heal, give direction. [00:07:18] Speaker B: We have the opportunity not to just to change the people in our lives. [00:07:22] Speaker A: But it's a ripple effect, right? We change communities, countries, the world. Elijah brought down rain, restored altars. Mary literally birthed the word of God, the prophetic word, like Christy talked about. [00:07:38] Speaker B: My mom. [00:07:38] Speaker A: Hi, mom. [00:07:39] Speaker B: Isaiah, his yes seeded generations of faith. When we give God our yes, we are co creating with him in whatever space he has us. Prophesying is often speaking of the things that haven't happened yet. You get to do creative future planning with heaven. How cool is that? Fresh word, fresh anointing, fresh revelation. Scripture says in Matthew 4, 4, man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds from his mouth. We're in another building. [00:08:13] Speaker A: Right, right, right, right. [00:08:16] Speaker B: And I had the pleasure of co creating with the Lord on this one. The fall before. We had just finished. We've only been in our new building. [00:08:24] Speaker A: For like two, two years when I had that word, maybe three, two and a half. [00:08:28] Speaker B: My dad's thinking, oh, I get to rest for like five years and I'm in service. Usually I'm on the worship team. I was down the floor and the Lord just built. Bam brings a word to me and I was like, it was very clear. It was something about building that stretching out the tent pegs and if that we. That the people were coming, and then if we couldn't do it, then God would find somebody else to do it. And it was a now word that needed to happen right away, right? [00:08:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:08:57] Speaker B: And I went and I told my dad in the middle of worship. And my dad's not a feely person. [00:09:01] Speaker A: But he's like, my gosh, I got goosebumps. [00:09:02] Speaker B: And then he had the word confirmed by my mom and. And so we began our build. And I got to, for the next six months, co create with the Lord and have words that were very directionary. That is the fun you get to. [00:09:12] Speaker A: Do when you co create with the Lord. [00:09:15] Speaker B: Now, if you're self creating, you can build things, but you're doing it in your own power. Psalms 127:1. Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Choosing not to co create with God doesn't mean that nothing's created. It means that it lacks eternal weight, divine blessing, and kingdom fruit. And it means that we got to do all the work. Why would you want to do that? Oh, my gosh. No, no, no, no, no. An obedient prophet stays humble. A prophet who is not obedient lets their ego rule. Now, ego isn't always, I think, the best of myself. Sometimes ego is. [00:10:03] Speaker A: Oh, not me. Right. Reverse pride. Thank you. Yes. [00:10:10] Speaker B: To stay humble, we must constantly be submitted so that we can hear exactly. [00:10:15] Speaker A: What the Father's heart is not our own. Even that false humbleness, right? Like, oh, I can't say that. You can't ask me to get up. I'm not good enough. That's ego. [00:10:29] Speaker B: You know, the whole thing that happened this last month, it was about my ego and staying humbled, of course. [00:10:35] Speaker A: Thank you, Lord. The altar call after Peter's that Pastor Phil gave was exactly my last month. How incredible. That betrayal, that word. I had a best friend of 30 years who said something that felt like a big betrayal to me. [00:10:57] Speaker B: And betrayal was the word I used. [00:11:00] Speaker A: And it hurt. Oh, my gosh, it hurt and it tore me up. She was always my safe friend. Oh my gosh, it hurt. Tore me up. And I loved to sit in my anger. Should I have loved to suit my anger? [00:11:22] Speaker B: No. I stewed for a solid three weeks because, you know, I didn't do anything wrong. She should come and apologize to me. She should come and make things right. Am I hitting anybody with this? [00:11:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:11:42] Speaker B: And then that leads you to doubting yourself, too. But then, of course, I'm doing a Bible study. And the Lord will use anything and everything. To speak to you, to get your attention. I was like, I was in my own crap. I was just out there, man. Philippians 2, 5, 11. Ready. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus, who, being in very nature, God did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage. Rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant. Being made in human likeness and being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death, even death on the cross. Therefore, God exalted him in the highest place and gave him the name above. Every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee would bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth. And every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord Jesus to the glory of God the Father. No, Jesus out of all of us, was the one who deserved to be justified, didn't he? Jesus was, Lord. He deserved to claim his lordship. You know that word servant in there? Servant or slave, depending on your thing. And Greek does not mean what we think of as like a servant or slave. It literally just means solely committed to another. Scripture is saying that we need to be like Christ and in our relationships, we need to humble ourselves based on the fact that we were solely committed. [00:13:27] Speaker A: To the Father above. I was sitting there on my porch doing my Bible studies, stewing in my. [00:13:33] Speaker B: Anger, really feeling justified. And I read that Scripture and I go, oh, no. [00:13:39] Speaker A: Oh no, the Lord's about ready to slap me. [00:13:42] Speaker C: I could just feel it. [00:13:43] Speaker B: I could just feel it. [00:13:44] Speaker A: And I heard the Father in all of his kindness say to me, jesse, would you humble yourself for me? [00:13:58] Speaker B: It hurts so bad. [00:13:59] Speaker A: It feels so good at the same. [00:14:01] Speaker B: Time, because the Lord knows. If he said, jesse, will you humble yourself for your friend? I'd be like, no way. She's a meanie. She was my persecutor. [00:14:11] Speaker A: Absolutely not. [00:14:13] Speaker B: But the Father knows that if we. [00:14:15] Speaker A: Humble ourselves for him that he gets the glory in both of these situations. And I'm happy to say everything's all. [00:14:22] Speaker B: Worked out because the Lord was using it to grow me for this. [00:14:27] Speaker A: If we are not humble, if we let ego rule our lives, our spiritual eyes are literally blocked. You guys. I couldn't even look at this friend of mine with kindness. I couldn't even see the 30 years of our friendship because I was so. [00:14:43] Speaker B: Angry and ego driven that I deserved it. When we are messengers of Jesus Christ, we have to lay aside our ego. Not just because it blocks our eyes, but because we are called to be like Jesus Christ and to Humble ourselves. [00:15:00] Speaker A: And to be surrendered so that we. [00:15:02] Speaker B: Can be a sweet offering and bring. [00:15:04] Speaker A: Glory to the Father above. [00:15:07] Speaker B: Number six. [00:15:09] Speaker A: I'm doing great. [00:15:11] Speaker B: Obedience creates abundance. I know that can be a tricky word, but we're going to talk about it. Lack of obedience creates just that lack. Now, I'm just going to caution you with this. A lot of the time we think one of you guys said this earlier. [00:15:28] Speaker A: And I thought, oh, they're preaching a message again. [00:15:30] Speaker B: When we're obedient, things are going to work out. [00:15:33] Speaker A: Yeah. And they don't. [00:15:36] Speaker B: A lot of the time, they don't. Abundance is not always an instant thing with obedience. It's not always easy. And it doesn't always look like a blessing at first. [00:15:49] Speaker A: This is that whole concept. [00:15:51] Speaker B: Life happens for you, not to you, where it comes in, because you need. [00:15:54] Speaker A: To trust that the Lord is working on your behalf, even when it feels. [00:15:57] Speaker B: Like life is happening to you. John 15:2. You know what I'm going to say. Sometimes obedience leads to pruning. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit, he prunes so. [00:16:15] Speaker A: That it will be even more fruitful. And how does he do this usually in relationships? [00:16:22] Speaker B: Not every time. I would say, like 99% of the time. He uses people in our life to trigger us. That's the word. That's. [00:16:30] Speaker A: That's the life coaching word to trigger. [00:16:32] Speaker B: Us, to just get us spinning. [00:16:40] Speaker A: You're not being punished. You are being prepared. Obedience can sometimes feel like poverty before it produces plenty. [00:16:51] Speaker B: Abraham with Isaac, great example. Genesis 22:1 18. He obeyed. He brought his son up that mountain. Could you imagine if this. If the Lord's like, hey, you gotta sacrifice your child. [00:17:05] Speaker A: Come on up. [00:17:05] Speaker B: I'd be like, satan, that's not you, Lord. But he obeyed the Lord. He walked up that mountain. He carried the wood. He laid his son down. First of all, I can't believe how obedient his son was. I probably would have kicked him in the teeth, you know, and he raised his knife. And only then, after he did all that obedience is when the provision came. And only then is when legacy and Blessing came. Genesis 22:16 18 says, because you have obeyed me, I will surely bless you. And through your offspring, all the nations will be blessed. And you know, that whole mountain is. [00:17:43] Speaker C: Called Jehovah Jireh, my provider. [00:17:47] Speaker B: All right, we won't keep going. But the whole mountain is named after the God providing. But what caused that abundance and provision to come? It was obedience. Sometimes when we're a Lot of time when we're giving a word, we're like. [00:18:02] Speaker A: Lord Jesus, this is so out of left field, it's uncomfortable. [00:18:09] Speaker B: And you know what? You can apply this to any type of ministry. Not just prophetic, you know, sure can. But the overflow on the other side. [00:18:17] Speaker A: Of obedience is always worth it. 100%. 100%. [00:18:23] Speaker B: I have never had a moment in my life where I followed the Lord. [00:18:26] Speaker A: And was obedient to him that I look back and I say, oh goodness, I regret that. [00:18:31] Speaker B: Not one moment. [00:18:32] Speaker A: And I think everybody here could say that. Amen, number seven. And the last point, I did it. [00:18:41] Speaker B: An obedient prophet is obedient even if rejected. [00:18:48] Speaker A: Ouch. [00:18:51] Speaker B: A prophet who is not obedient shrinks. [00:18:53] Speaker A: Back and silences his voice in the face of rejection. Rejection is an interesting one because Jesus was rejected even into the cross. [00:19:08] Speaker B: If Jesus was rejected, we can sure. [00:19:11] Speaker A: Better believe we're going to have our moments of rejection. [00:19:15] Speaker B: But if our lives are aligned, like we talked about earlier, with the Spirit. [00:19:19] Speaker A: Of God, mind, body, soul, spirit, wherever we're going to this, if they are aligned with God the Father and we. [00:19:29] Speaker B: Are receiving fresh words, we. [00:19:31] Speaker A: We must trust that what he gives. [00:19:34] Speaker B: Us to share and what he gives. [00:19:36] Speaker A: Us to do is from Him. It's that walk of faith. [00:19:42] Speaker B: So even in the face of rejection. [00:19:44] Speaker A: You can say, that has nothing to do with what I just shared. Hurt can be brought and it can cause you to question, did I hear from God? [00:20:00] Speaker B: It can erode away at who you are and the giftings the Lord has brought. The enemy would love nothing more than. [00:20:06] Speaker A: To silence the voice of the prophet. [00:20:09] Speaker B: Because if the voice of the prophet is silenced, then the body of Christ cannot be edified, cannot be encouraged, and yet cannot be comforted. The prophet's gift is to be the messenger for the Lord, specifically for the Body. And if we let rejection silence our voice, how then is the body of Christ supposed to grow and receive fresh revelation? The gift of prophecy is not just a fun fluffy thing that maybe we'll. [00:20:39] Speaker A: Use it just talked about earlier. It's like the main gift. [00:20:44] Speaker B: We should all be seeking to have it. Why? Because it's so important for the edification of the body. Because while we're here on earth, it's exhausting. We need direction. The enemy doesn't want us to have this. Do not grow weary in doing good. Do not grow faint in walking out. [00:21:02] Speaker A: Your calling for his life. For your life, I should say, and other people's life. [00:21:08] Speaker B: My final thoughts on this. [00:21:10] Speaker A: I have a lot of Thoughts, but I'm running out of time. I'll keep it with this. When we obey, we're not trying to earn the Father's approval. There's not a thing you can do because of Jesus Christ that can make the Lord see you any differently or love you more or less. [00:21:33] Speaker B: It's because of Jesus that we don't have to earn his approval. God does not need our obedience. [00:21:41] Speaker A: He's the king of the universe. But you know, who needs our obedience? We do. We do. [00:21:48] Speaker B: I'll never forget Sister Sylvia came into my brother died. We were on the hospital and I think she was on throughway and turned. [00:21:56] Speaker A: Around, came into the hospital room. [00:21:58] Speaker B: He had just passed away and we were all in the room and she sang Worship with us. It was another incredible example of hearing. [00:22:04] Speaker A: From the Lord and doing what he says. I cry easy and it was an incredible moment of just seeing a prophet obeying the Lord and humbling themselves. Because I am sure it's very difficult. [00:22:30] Speaker B: To walk into a hospital room where. [00:22:32] Speaker A: Their 21 year old beautiful son has just passed away. I'm sure that was difficult. Quite intimidating. You see, when we go create with the Lord and we align ourselves with him, we have incredible opportunities to bind up the brokenhearted, to free the captives. I'm sorry, I can't get stopped crying. We don't obey to earn his approval. We obey because it benefits us and the people around us. We can't afford to live in disobedience. We can't. Not because we need to be perfect, not because we need to live in shame or afraid that we're going to make a mistake, but because it allows us the opportunity to bring glory to earth, to bring heaven to earth, to co create with the Lord, to create. [00:23:35] Speaker B: Amazing things and businesses and ministries and raise families and heal people to come beside the brokenhearted in a hospital. If we are obedient, we must be. [00:23:48] Speaker A: Obedient to the one true king. There's this moment of surrender where we. [00:23:58] Speaker B: Got to lay our egos down. And like I said, egos aren't just. [00:24:03] Speaker A: I think the best of myself because I don't think a lot of us actually think the best of ourselves. Ego is sometimes that false humility. Oh, what's that song? [00:24:14] Speaker C: I surrender all I surrender all. [00:24:23] Speaker A: To. [00:24:23] Speaker C: Jesus blessed Savior I surrender. [00:24:31] Speaker A: Oh, can I have you guys stand for a minute in our obedience. Do you mind putting on a little music? Listen, I'm a worship girl. [00:24:47] Speaker B: I process so well in music. [00:24:50] Speaker A: I just do in our obedience. [00:24:54] Speaker B: And you know what obedience is? [00:24:56] Speaker A: Surrender. Because it's laying down a lot to be obedient in our obedience. We are honoring the Father in our surrender. We are giving the Lord a chance to move in our lives. But in return, the Father brings abundance. He brings provision. He brings promotion. He brings healing. He is such a good, good God. I don't want to take too long. I'm not going to call anybody up. I want you guys to just make an altar right now, like I was talking about with Isaac. Make an altar are in your mind right now. And all those pieces of wood that were gathered and laid down. I want you to search through your heart right now. Find all the offenses, the ego, the misunderstandings, the pain, the hurt, the broken relationships, the rejection. I want you to take those like a living sacrifice and I want you to lay them down. Can you just see yourself laying them down? This is our altar of surrender, Jesus. This is our altar of giving everything, everything we think we deserve. Lord Jesus, come and let your Holy spirit just. I see it, just burning it up, burning it up, burning it up. I want you to put your hand on your heart. [00:26:50] Speaker B: Can you do that for me? And repeat after me. [00:26:55] Speaker A: Lord Jesus, I surrender. Again, I lay it all down. [00:27:05] Speaker B: All the things. [00:27:08] Speaker A: The good, the bad, the undeserved and the deserved. And I invite you to come and consume it, remove it from my life. I submit to you, Father. I surrender. Use me, fill me, anoint me, refresh me, call me. I am your servant, solely committed to you. I commit my life to you. Again, you are worth it all, you are worthy of it all. [00:28:05] Speaker B: You are. [00:28:06] Speaker C: Worthy of it all. For from you are all things, and to you are all things, you deserve the glory. [00:28:22] Speaker B: Sing it again. [00:28:23] Speaker C: You are worthy, you are worthy of it all, you are worthy of it all. For from you are all things, and to you are all things, you deserve the glory. [00:28:52] Speaker A: Thank you, Father. Seal this on our hearts today, Lord Jesus. Seal it on our hearts in Jesus name.
